Clearly, Unit 4 deserves the most practice time. Units 1, 3 and 5 come next with equal weight. Unit 2 is the smallest, yet it is also the easiest to score in full.

BTEUP’s evaluation strategy suggests a three-section structure for end-term theory papers. The exact layout can vary from year to year. Still, this blueprint shows where the marks usually sit.

Because Sections I and II offer no choice, you cannot skip any unit. However, Section III gives you some freedom. Therefore, master at least two long-answer formats from Unit 4 before the exam.
The board also suggests weightage by ability level. Comprehension questions make up 40–60% of a paper. Knowledge questions take 10–30%, application questions take 20–30%, and analysis questions take up to 10%.
